Collection of Personal Information from Minors
We understand children’s use of E-mail and the Internet is cause for special concerns regarding privacy and security of information. Therefore, Chapman’s does not collect and keep personal information from and about children under the age of 13 without their parent’s consent. We encourage parents to spend time online with their children as well as check and monitor their children’s online activities. Please help us to protect your child’s privacy by instructing them never to enter their personal information without your permission and consent, on this site or any other site.

We do not base a child’s participation in an activity on the child disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity. We will not share your children’s personal information with third parties.

What Information Do We Collect?
In order to fully participate in the Kid’s Club and make consumer inquiries, you will be asked to provide us with your name, address, age, and/or email address. We do not require anyone to disclose more information than necessary to participate in the Chapman’s Kid’s Club or to enable us to respond to inquiries, as the case may be. You may elect not to provide us with such information but by doing so you will not be able to access many of the games, activities and opportunities available in the Kid’s Club and we may not be able to respond to your inquiries.

While you browse our website, technical information in regards to your Internet browser and your IP address may be passively collected. This information is used to ensure our website is kept compatible with as many web browsers as possible.

What is the Information Used for?
Information collected from consumer inquiries will be used to help us respond to such inquiries.

Mailing information is collected strictly for the purpose of mailing prizes claimed by the online member and account holder. We collect information about ages in order to help us tailor the Kid’s Club activities and generate statistical data to assist us with product development.

With Whom Do We Share Information?
Product information and comments, questions and suggestions may be forwarded to our Quality Assurance or Product Development departments, or to our distributors for the purpose of product development and quality control. Technical information gathered is only available and used by our Web Development and Database Administration departments to administer this website.

Except as described in this policy, we never share personal information that we receive online. We do not provide any “customer lists” to outside companies for use for marketing or any other purposes.

Security
Your personal information is kept secure on web servers located in Canada. Only authorized Chapman’s Ice Cream staff and affiliated companies’ staff (who have agreed to keep the information secure) have access to your personal information. We take commercially reasonable precautions to keep your personal information secure. All access to the information we collect is subject to physical, electronic and managerial restrictions to prevent unauthorized access, modification or misuse. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online, and you do so at your own risk.

Spamming and Cookies
We do not practice "spamming". Spamming is where unsolicited e-mails are sent to recipients containing advertisement or marketing related materials without the prior consent of the recipient.

"Cookies" are small files or pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive when you visit a website. Chapman’s also does not collect information passively though “cookies” or other tracking mechanisms. Chapman’s uses "cookies" to temporarily store your Kids Club membership information; the server will read back this information to calculate your login and accumulated points and delete the cookie when you log off of the website.
